BAG History Group / History Festival May Program
South Australia's History Festival is an annual statewide event exploring South Australia's history through hundreds of events ranging from talks to tours, walks to workshops, exhibitions to special events and just about everything in between. BAG has participated in the history festival for many years and is pleased to present our 2022 tours.

Travel back in time... by train
Catch the train at Blackwood Railway Station to the Eden and Belair Stations. At each stop you will learn about the development and challenges faced by the early railway network and its value to the local districts and the state. Tour ends with Devonshire Tea. Limited Numbers.

Belair - Heritage Along the Ridge
Belair’s history and its important links to the development of SA will be shared and grand summer residences highlighted as we walk along Sheoak Road. Refreshments served at heritage listed Belair station.

Belair National Park - Off the Beaten Track
Tour Australia’s second oldest national park in a minibus with a guide, to sites of historic significance, some off-road that you may not have seen before. Visit Old Government House and walk in the bush to learn about native flora and Indigenous people’s use of the land.
NB this activity involves short distance walks on rough tracks.

WHERE: Meet at the Volunteers’ Centre, Long Gully oval, Belair National Park
